Poking through the woods

We went out for a walk about a week ago it was such a lovely Saturday and it had been a while since I had the chance to do some proper photography that this was my chance to do some catching up. The photo below was taken about a mile or two from my (new) house.

A few observations: When shooting under a woodland canopy your manual settings which were spot on out in the open suddenly go completely out of whack, if you don’t really care about illuminating the tree frame then meter for the background, otherwise you’ll need to bump up the ISO quite a bit (and I really don’t like noise)

Also at first I thought I’d set this one as a monochrome picture, playing with wide contrast differences but looking at it with colour again I think I prefer it that way.

So here you are, Carnethy Hill on a bright autumn afternoon.
