Guitar Practice Log – New Channel

I’ve not had a chance to practice for a few days, mostly because I was both tired and needed to prepare for a fencing assessment this past Saturday (which I passed). I may write about it later if anyone’s interested but for now, it’s back to axe-wielding evenings and the various little surprises that come with it.

I found a wonderful new blog today called Guitar School Garden, a discovery made via @lachaineguitare. As you might have guessed, despite what the name of the blog suggests, it’s actually a French blog (in French, donc). I’m yet to peruse the wealth of information this blog seem to be full of but simply checking the latest entry, allowed me to discover a great backing track in Bm, brilliant to jam over without having to fuss too much with technique. What’s more it’s perfect to work on those bits of phrasing I need to nail down.

So guess what I did? Well picked the guitar and played of course, what else? 😉 A very enjoyable play, I shall look forward to more inspiring backing tracks whether published or to be published (oh and if I feel inclined, I may record something too, but, umm, not tonight). Recommended if you can read French (or if you’re ready for a giggle and let Google translate it for you)

  1. Hello Jean Loup !

I don't know whether to write in French or in English so I'll stick to the language of your post (but you're french, aren't you ?). First, thank you very much for your kind comments about Guitar School Garden. I'm glad you like the backing track ! It's true that Guitar School Garden is a tricky name for a guitar blog written all in french. Still, I guess you can grab a few things given that you've got tab and audio (or video) for basically everything.

Please feel free to send me your recordings on the backing track, I'll be glad to post them on the blog if you allow me to.

    Thx again, see you !

    1. Hi Alexis,

Either language works, I keep my blog in English as my "target audience" is more likely to be anglophone but yes as you correctly guessed, I am French. I tried having it in both languages once upon a time but that was far too much work.

As I said, your backing track is well suited for my playing so I would expect to record something over it soon and when I do, I'll probably just post it in here.
