Triangle is one of those episodes which has a strange mix of great comedy and high drama. But then again, Nazis are foes everyone knows to hate.
For the record, the episode says the Queen Anne was sunk in the Bermuda Triangle. The real Queen Anne, which wasn't a cruise liner but a Motor Merchant boat was sunk in 1943 by a U-Boat off the coast of South Africa. See http://uboat.net/allies/merchants/2646.html
Remember that time Scully smooched Skinner?

Noooo
Sorry, this wasn't one of my favourite episode 🙁 not because of Scully kissed Skinner 🙂
That was a great episode!
+Flora JoseJesusdóttir that's ok
I LOVE the X-Files!
Yes, I always loved the "strange and ironic" episodes in which the actors could show their comedian talent!
Ñot so sexy, better when her & milder got"close"",seems right for those two opposites! Always a fan though!
I'ts one of my favourite episodes of all tv shows I watched!
yaiks…
nice
Many fans of the X-Files may be aware the show was popular with the members of the Bureau and reaction to this episode was not positive, especially with female agents who saw Scully as a kindred spirit, professional, extremely dedicated and smart. Kissing a supervisor, in addition to being a career ending taboo for both, was perceived as weakening Scully's character who,up to this point, had balanced a intriguing blend of impressive professionalism with smoldering femininity.
+P. ARTHUR RILEY Well, it was a comedic episode.
+Acosky Films Yes, and I tried unsuccessfully to explain that to my federal associates. The males understood the episode was an attempt by the producer to "lighten up" a very dark show which expertly exploited a diffuse sense of government conspiracy and paranoia.
However, several female acquaintances in Treasury and Justice though it feed into the stereotypes of females having affairs with their superiors….
And technically Skinner isn't her supervisor in this episode. It's quite a jump to go from "giving a kiss out of desperate gratitude" which isn't remotely meant to be romantic to "having an affair"
They must have been howling at the TV during First Person Shooter 😉
+P. ARTHUR RILEY Oh, are you a Federal Agent? ‘Cause that’s pretty cool.
+Jean-Loup Rebours-Smith
I though the response was a bit out of context based on the fact the episode was an intentional spoof and the relationships were altered from the main storyline.
But I make it a policy not to disagree with armed female federal agents and lawyers about their views on the portrayal of their sex in the media…..
