+dzulkafley samad It's from the Irish word Fionn meaning white or fair. A Scottish writer called James MacPherson is credited with inventing the name Fiona. Hope that helps.

Though if you go through the comments people make various claims about other flags without providing any kind of evidence so it's hard to tell, some of them might be right but the Guinness Book is a good enough source for me.
