Of all 7 shots submitted for this round, this is by far my favourite. I've managed to capture a certain state I've been in for quite some time, which is of course exaggerated in this picture but the oppressive tiredness is I think very well represented here.
I had several other ideas for this, the first involved playing with toys, which isn't very original. The second, which I expected at least one person to do, would have seen me being energised inside a Star Trek transporter. I think it would have looked really cool if a) I had the props b) I had an appropriate set and most importantly c) I had the photoshop skills to create the illusion of a body being dissolved into the transporter stream but as I have none of these I went with something simpler instead, something a little more raw. I also learnt a trick on how to properly set the focus on a glass in the process so I may not have gotten any award for this but it wasn't a complete waste of time 🙂
