This was taken just a few minutes ago and is SOOC but this was the best light show I’ve seen, we have seen since moving up here. Thanks to the sun giving us a nice CME and the clouds kindly dissipating after tonight’s rain.
I had missed this. Last time I’ve seen a show like this was in Northern Finland in 2001…

+Jon Mowat I wouldn't say "quite a lot". In the 17 years I've lived here this is maybe the 3rd time I've seen them and I follow AuroraWatch. This was the first time it was that strong.
They probably have them more frequently up in Orkney and Shetland but not as much as you can see them up in the Nordic countries
+Jean-Loup Rebours-Smith Depends where you are? You see them more frequently up north though, as i take my sons fishing and have seen them on numerous occasions when up Skye and Oban!
