Museum of Normandy – Caen Castle

As far as I recall I have been taking pictures of my hometown, Caen, ever since I caught the photography bug. My first proper set was out of an old point and shoot with a roll of 24 exposures in it and back then you had to make it count. I still have them lying around before the days of overhead cables for the tram and all that and if I find them I may share them here somehow. And now whenever I go back I try to take some time to find new things to shoot, the town has so much history, the difficult bit is to properly compose a frame.

The shot below wasn’t too hard to compose and lent itself quite nicely to a more symmetrical composition. The plain facade of the building, which was the old governor’s house back when the castle was home of a military garrison, contrasts quite well with a sky I had left enough under exposed to outline the cloud shapes in a way I like to do.
