Marvel Studios just released a second trailer for Avengers Endgame, barely a week after Captain Marvel was released in cinemas worldwide. Watch it after the break
And yes speaking of Captain Marvel, she makes an appearance in this trailer finally. And apparently those Quantum Realm black and white armoured suits that have been seen on many toys, including most Lego sets for Avengers Endgame, are real.
The trailer also comes accompanied by a brand new poster featuring all the surviving heroes of Infinity War with Thanos, wearing his helmet, still looming in the background:
I find it fascinating how they design it to have characters look one way where others look in a completely different direction. For instance they all pretty much look up and to our left (their right), all except for Thor who definitely looks to his left (our right) and Okoye whose downcast gaze suggests she is still in deep mourning of her king and her people. What this means for both characters, if it means anything at all, is unclear.
Of note in the trailer that immediately jumped at me are:
- The Peggy Carter voice over during the Captain America segment
- Hawkeye training his daughter, thus foreshadowing her becoming the Kate Bishop Hawkeye (I’m sure they can work around her name somehow, it wouldn’t be the first time)
- Ant-Man making it home only to find a whole bunch of missing person posters, suggesting it took him some time to get out of the Quantum Realm
- The shot of Nebula screaming looks like it’s immediately after she was left stranded with Tony Stark on Titan.
- The heroes in the Quantum Suits include: Cap, Nebula, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, War Machine, Iron Man and Black Widow. Missing from the trailer (and which toys suggested would be in the suit too) are Hulk, Thor and Rocket
- That Captain Marvel stare-off with Thor is cute
