Who left the oven on?

This may sound gloomy but the amount of heat Europe has experienced in the past month should be a serious cause for concern. Apparently Edinburgh broke its highest temperature record yesterday. Even here in the outskirts, it was fairly clammy and stuffy. I’m grateful my office has decent air conditioning that we weren’t drowning in our own sweat. And while this time the heat wave lasted only 3 or 4 days, it will only get longer as years and CO2 concentration keeps rising.

I previously mentioned how we were unable to travel down to France this year but given the current temperatures in the continent, I’m not sure that’s such a bad thing. At any rate, I am now on holiday and I intent to make the most of it. Settling on a decent sleep pattern would count as a good start, not that I’ve not tried and failed at this more times than I can count so wish me luck.

some joker said that we shouldn’t think of this as the hottest summer of the last 150 years but the coolest of the next 150
