There has been much speculation surrounding the 6th season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., primarily due to the big gap between season 5 and season 6 which leads us to believe the show runners are bypassing the whole Infinity War / Endgame arc so they won’t have to deal with the consequences of the “snappening”. But also there was much debate about whether Coulson was really going to die this team for real.
Well this trailer partially answers it… the latter question that is. So let’s break it down a bit.
Mack is now the director and one of his primary objectives is to go out searching for Fitz who is trapped in a capsule frozen somewhere in deep space following the events of episode 5×05 Rewind. Meaning all the events that followed the rest of the season, his wedding included, he won’t know anything about because he hasn’t lived it. Jemma is desperate to go find him and her lying down, crying in a similar cryo-capsule could be interpreted many different ways.
But let’s talk about May for a minute. She says “I got more than we thought we would” and I heard a million voices of #philinda shippers squeeing that she would up pregnant… Okay that’s just what my first thought was, but surely I wasn’t the only one? Maybe she’s just talking about the amount of time they got to spend together but the double-entendre is hard to ignore.
Finally there’s the new wave of threats the team will have to deal with. Are they inhumans? Alien invaders? Something that happened because of the snap or because of the undoing of the snap? Whatever they are they seem to be a force to be reckoned with until you see who one of them looks like at the very end. Our collective minds are exploding with questions and one thing is for sure waiting until the summer for season 6 is going to be hard.
