Natural solutions

I wish I had been able to go down on the street today and march along with thousands of others to try once again to raise the global awareness of the Global Climate Crisis. I went to a few before, as far back as 2009, but it never felt like they had much impact, just a mere inconvenience to local residents. This time however, there’s something more going on, a momentum that seems to have finally taking hold where a portion of the population is waking up to the problem. Some polls have even suggested people perceive Climate Change as being a more serious issue than Brexit (it is). So I hope, or dare to hope, that we will see some more changes. Of course having countries like the USA, the UK, Brazil or Australia being governed by extreme right-wing politicians who couldn’t care less about the issue and would rather spend the subsidies the fossil fuel industry gives them to get a new yacht and dig for more coal isn’t gonna help much but that’s what elections are for.

So instead of marching, I decided to buy a new tree to plant in front of my house. I had hoped to have it in the ground tonight but with soil so full of clay, I could take on pottery making, it will have to wait until tomorrow before the job is finished (we’re also losing light fast nowadays). Luckily it’s looking like it’s gonna be a cracker of a weekend so that should help. And if you’re curious, we got a pear-tree, which I hope will be prolific.
